Servicio de Deportes

The Sports Service of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the body that promotes the knowledge and practice of physical activity, games and sport among the members of the university community: students, teachers and administrative and service staff.

This website aims to be the vehicle of communication between the Sports Service and the university community, providing information on the activities that are carried out on a regular and timely basis. Thus, it will be possible to find out about the specific activities on offer, their timetables and prices. The offer is also open to external people who may be interested.

The catalogue of internships currently includes activities in nature (hiking, mountain biking, camping, etc.), activities in the aquatic environment and on the beach (canoeing, sailing, surfing, bodyboarding, beach volleyball, etc.) and activities in the sports facilities of the school. ) and activities in the sports facilities of the Tafira Campus (Pilates, GAP, tai chi, athletics, judo, sports gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, traditional games and sports, paddle tennis, rugby, speed badminton, archery,…).

The concern for the training and qualification of the university population generates the organization and promotion of courses and monographic conferences developed by specialists.

We invite you to visit the Sports Service website regularly to find out what’s new and to enjoy the wide and varied range of physical and sporting activities on offer; we’re counting on you!

Cultura y Atención Integral

One of the ULPGC’s functions is to disseminate the culture received and to promote the development of personal creativity, defending identity, but without forgetting activities that improve coexistence and respect for cultural diversity.

The Vice-Rector’s Office for Culture and Integral Care aims to be the link between the concerns of the members of the university community and society as a whole in a permanent dialogue. Our aim is to promote and disseminate the works of local and international artists through concerts, exhibitions, theatrical productions, etc., which contribute to integral development.

We consider the University as a place of creativity and dissemination of critical thinking. We believe in an innovative University, with alternatives, based on debate, discussion and the contrast of ideas, beyond the formal training that contributes to the integral formation of its members. To this end, greater collaboration and a high degree of participation are essential.

We are convinced that the actions of this Vice-Rector’s Office should not only serve the university community but also act as a bridge between the ULPGC and society, and establish agreements with various institutions such as the Canary Islands Music Festival, the Las Palmas Film Festival, the Opera Festival, the Conservatories of Music, etc.

Finally, we start from the idea that the University is made up of people. Any action proposed by this Vice-Rector’s Office must be aimed at intellectual, emotional and physical development. For all these reasons, our task will be aimed at responding to these demands from:
