The Degree in Engineering in Industrial Organization belongs to the branch of knowledge of Engineering and Architecture. Its main objective is to train the student in the management of industrial companies and technological content processes.

The study plan leading to the Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Industrial Organization consists of 240 ECTS credits distributed in four academic courses of 60 credits each and allows access to a Master's degree.

The minimum number of European enrollment credits per student and school period in the degree is in accordance with the Progress and Permanence Standards in the official degrees of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which establish the modalities of enrollment in time Full and partial. The languages ​​used in the teaching of this degree are Spanish and English with proportions of 95% and 5% of the credits that make up the degree, respectively.

The Degree in Engineering in Industrial Organization at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria allows direct access to the Master in Industrial Engineering at this university. The Master in Industrial Engineering is a degree with specific guidelines (Order CIN / 311/2009) that grants full professional powers to practice the regulated profession of Industrial Engineer.

Likewise, the Degree in Engineering in Industrial Organization allows direct access to most of the master's programs in the branch of Engineering and Architecture and Social Sciences and Law (economics and business section) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and from other national and foreign universities.

To obtain the degree, the student must have the equivalent of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​in a foreign language.

Admission profile

As established in the objectives of the degree, the graduate in the Degree in Industrial Organization Engineering taught at the School of Industrial and Civil Engineering (EIIC) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will be a professional with a broad vision of the field of engineering in industry, its fundamental disciplines, basic principles, and scope aware of the need to constantly update their training and equipped with the necessary self-learning skills to do so.

Required knowledge:

  • Notions of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing.
  • Oral and written expression in Spanish, comprehension of texts in Spanish.
  • Oral and written expression in English, comprehension of texts in English.

Required Skills:

  • Aptitude for study and work organization.
  • Logical reasoning and real-world problem-solving skills.
  • Readiness for practical work.
  • Manual dexterity in the handling of instruments or equipment that will be widely used in their studies.

  • Capacity for argumentation, reasoning and expression of ideas.
  • Computer and Internet skills.

The entry profile described above may be updated and improved in accordance with the provisions of procedure PCC01 (Key Procedure for the Definition of the Entry Profile and Student Recruitment) of the Quality Assurance System (QAS) of the EIIC. According to this procedure, the Centre’s Quality Assurance Committee, following an analysis of the reference frameworks and a study of the current situation of the closest university system, the social environment and the professional environment, will be responsible for proposing to the Teaching Advisory Committee, for discussion, and to the Centre’s Management Team, for approval, the revision of the admission profile for the degree, so that it can be ratified, if appropriate, by the Centre’s Board of Trustees.

Once the admission profile of the degree has been approved, it is disseminated through the usual channels, following the PCC08 procedure (Key Public Information Procedure).

Graduate Profile

 

The main objective of the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Organisation Engineering is to provide scientific, technological and socio-economic training aimed at preparing students for professional practice in the development and application of Industrial Organisation Engineering associated with the socio-economic reality of the Canary Islands. It also allows access to a Master’s degree that goes deeper into a more specific professional profile or enables students to carry out research and obtain a Doctorate degree.

The aims of the degree are framed within the relevant objectives set out in the Organic Law of Universities, which are, among others, methodologies related to learning, creation and transmission of knowledge, mobility of students and teachers, quality assurance and its regulation, and lifelong learning. The proposed degree has a professional orientation, so that together with a solid basic knowledge, the core competences of the ULPGC, the transversal and specific ones, all of them marked by the professional profile, are harmoniously integrated. The expected results will allow graduates a good integration in the labour market and an easy adaptation to the rapid changes taking place in this field of Engineering.

The proposed degree also aims to provide students with sufficient preparation for access to the Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, as described above, as well as to other Master’s Degrees in the branch of Engineering and Architecture.

Recognition of credits completed in official NON-UNIVERSITY education

The Governing Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria approved the credit recognition tables for subjects taught in training cycle degrees related to this Degree. The subjects, as well as the number of credits recognised are detailed in the recognition tables published in the Official Bulletin of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The recognition tables have been drawn up in accordance with the Collaboration Agreement between the Department of Education, Universities and Sustainability of the Canary Islands Government and the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the establishment of the system of validation and recognition of studies between the courses that make up higher education in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, signed on 9 April 2013.
