The Degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering is a title of great tradition in our country and throughout the rest of European university systems. This Degree is deeply rooted in the Canary Islands, being the origin of the creation of the Polytechnic University, the embryo of the current University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, along with other degrees.

The future graduate is framed within the regulated profession of Industrial Technical Engineer, with full professional powers in the field of Industrial Chemical Engineering. They are a professional with a specialized vision, knowledgeable of the necessary technological fundamentals related to analysis, design, testing and operation of equipment and processes in which matter experiences a change of state, energy content or composition. They will be able to work effectively in the design and control of chemical plant production, as well as direct quality control and environmental management projects. They will know the methodologies of experimentation, testing and characterization of processes, as well as the systems and technologies for monitoring, control and optimization of products.

The Degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering is a degree adapted to the European Higher Education Area and, as such, allows the student to benefit from the following advantages:

  • Greater presence of practical teachings and external practices.
  • Automatic recognition of credits facilitating mobility between degrees.
  • Assessment of the overall work of the student and her initiative. One ECTS credit corresponds to 25-30 hours of dedication.
  • Enhancement of tutoring and continuous evaluation of students.
  • It will allow the free movement of professionals without the need for a homologation of university degrees.
  • The degrees are oriented to social demand and have been updated to achieve adaptation to the work environment.

The minimum number of European enrollment credits per student and school period in the degree is in accordance with the Progress and Permanence Standards in the official degrees of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which establish the modalities of enrollment in time complete and partial.

The languages ​​used in the teaching of this degree are Spanish and English with proportions of 95% and 5% of the credits that make up the degree, respectively.

To obtain the degree, the student must have the equivalent of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​in a foreign language.
