The Degree in Electrical Engineering is a degree with a long tradition in our country and in the rest of the European university systems. It has deep roots in the Canary Islands, being the origin, together with other degrees, of the creation of the Polytechnic University, embryo of the current University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The future graduate falls within the regulated profession of Industrial Technical Engineer, with full professional attributions in the field of Electrical Engineering. He is a professional with a specialized vision, aware of the necessary technological foundations related to the generation and distribution of electrical energy, as well as the control and protection of electrical systems. You will be able to work effectively in the direction and management of engineering projects related to electrical systems, high, medium and low power installations, the development of renewable energies, the automation of machines and industrial production lines, and the generation and distribution of electrical energy.

The Degree in Electrical Engineering is a degree adapted to the European Higher Education Area and, as such, allows the student to benefit from the following advantages:

  • Greater presence of practical teachings and external practices.
  • Automatic recognition of credits facilitating mobility between degrees.
  • Assessment of the student's global work and his initiative.
  • An ECTS credit corresponds to 25-30 hours of dedication.

The minimum number of European enrollment credits per student and teaching period in the degree is in accordance with the Rules of Progress and Permanence in the official degrees of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which establish the modalities of enrollment in time complete and partial.

The languages ​​used in the teaching of this title are Spanish and English with proportions of 95% and 5% of the credits that make up the degree, respectively.

To obtain the degree, the student must have in a foreign language the equivalent of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Recognition of credits completed in official NON-UNIVERSITY education

The Governing Council of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria approved the credit recognition tables for subjects taught in training cycle degrees related to this Degree. The subjects, as well as the number of credits recognised are detailed in the recognition tables published in the Official Bulletin of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The recognition tables have been drawn up in accordance with the Collaboration Agreement between the Department of Education, Universities and Sustainability of the Canary Islands Government and the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the establishment of the system of validation and recognition of studies between the courses that make up higher education in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, signed on 9 April 2013.
